Welcome Our New Senior Pastor!

Dean Family Easter 2016

MEET THE DEANS!  Joey & Allison, Caleb & Hannah

On Sunday April 10th the membership of Grace in Pagosa unanimously extended the call to Joey Dean to become our next Senior Pastor.  Joey has graciously accepted the call!

BIO:    Joey Dean has been serving as the Assistant Pastor at his current church since June 2010.  He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005, with an undergraduate business degree in Maritime Administration.  Joey continued his education, studying at both Dallas Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, earning his Masters of Divinity degree from SWBTS.  Joey grew up in small country town south of Dallas (Midlothian) but he has also lived in a quaint tourist town (Galveston) and currently resides in the 4th largest city in the US (Houston).

Over the past 12 years of ministry, the Lord has refined in Joey a deep desire to help churches become a place where people intimately connect with God and His people.  He has a particular passion to establish, restore, and maintain families that are Biblically founded and center around glorifying God.  Joey is a visionary leader who believes the foundation of any ministry lies in the integrity of its leaders, and places a high value on authenticity and relationships.  Over the past few years, God has launched Joey on an incredible journey, deepening his understanding of discipleship as the key to growth and sustainability of the church.  Joey’s central passion is building and equipping disciple-makers to start discipleship movements.

The Lord has blessed Joey incredibly by his wife, Allison, and his two wonderful children, Caleb (3) and Hannah (2).  Allison is an loving wife and mother, who strives to use her life/home to disciple other women, and help them see the Glory of God in their everyday lives.  Allison has a myriad of talents and interests, but she can often be found in the kitchen making delicious cakes and desserts.  Joey is an avid outdoorsman, as hunting and fishing are part of his family heritage; and he enjoys just about any outdoor activity.  Above all else, the Dean’s approach ministry as a family calling- intentionally integrating discipleship into their lives, hobbies, and home in a transparent way that helps them to connect with people on a deep personal level.
